This is an old revision of the document!

Offered/Wanted: Hardware, etc.

Got some (generally) hardware to offer, or that you want? Here's a place to potentially list / check for such.

Some rules of the road/guidelines:

  • This is mostly for free stuff. For the most part there are many other places to list stuff one wants to buy/sell, other than here.
  • For items offered that aren't offered for free, they should be way below "fair market value" … and that's not what you paid for it however many nears ago when it was new at the time. Yes, (e.g.) we know you paid around three thousand dollars for that then state-of-the-art laptop, but that was well over a decade ago and "street price" for that vintage of used hardware is about twenty dollars, so if you're asking for something for it on here you should probably be asking for five dollars … or less. If you want to ask more, you should probably list/sell it somewhere else.
  • Location - this is for San Francisco Bay Area (Linux, etc.) User Groups … so, should be in the general territory or close. Davis, Sacramento, Northern California might be considered close enough, but, e.g. Southern California, out-of-state, or more distant, no, please use something else - not here.
  • Please update the listing(s) - if your listing is no longer current (no longer wanted/offered, or contact information needs updating), please update it.
  • Persons maintaining site reserve right to edit as deemed appropriate.

Makes for good scanner with SANE on, e.g. Linux (I used it for such some years ago); printing? - probably needs TLC to unclog + newer ink (cartridges) (of course) - printed fine when I tried it years ago, but not again years later - even with new ink cartridge, lots of media slots, FAX capable, I have archives of relevant materials from Brother web sites, some (bottom) plastic might be due bit of TLC too (wasn't ideally stored)
